Today i am reviewing Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer. About 2-3 years ago this concealer was raved about by the majority of the blogger community. I know i am probably the last one to own it and review it but i think i need to tell my side of the story about this concealer. Read below what i have to say about this product.

Product Description

This concealer is available in plastic gloss shaped packaging with a doe foot applicator. The packaging is good quality for the price you pay and you can easily carry it in your beauty bag for travelling. It has faint plastic varnish smell which is not detectable unless you have the habit of smelling your every makeup product like i do :P it contains 12mg of product.

This concealer was actually a gift from my sister who lives in England. So it was easy for her to get her hands on this product since it is a UK based brand. She loves this concealer and absolutely swear by it. She owns the shade 3 which is medium where as she gifted me the shade 4 dark. For reference she is NC 37 where as i am NC 30. When she bought the concealer for me‚ she was under the impression that i am more darker than her :P . Anways when i first got the concealer in shade dark it seemed a pretty good match for me since i match my concealer with my foundation and don't use the lighter shades to highlight. So after swatching the concealer once‚ i left it there lying in my makeup organiser for days before i picked it up again and used it. If you know me well you will know i am not a concealer fan at all. Infact i hardly use concealer. Since i don't have bad under eye circles or any blemishes to hide‚ the coverage of foundation is enough for me. But for some special occasions when i have to wear full face of makeup then i seldom wear concealer.

This concealer has very thick creamy texture and sets easily. You need to blend it out fast or it will set completely and wont be budged. I use it with a wet beauty blender and this is how i usually put on my concealer. It dries up to a very matte powder like finish and if you are in a hurry or just lazy you can skip setting it with a powder though i will advice you not to. The coverage is full and it may be dry for your under eyes and will crease up if you have dry under eye area. The claims of the concealer lasting you 16 hours is true to an extent that it cant be budged easily. I have tried wearing it for about 8 hours and it didn't moved from my under eye. To be honest it is a tough job removing this concealer since i have to actually rub my under eyes with a makeup remover wipe to take it off.

The first time i actually used this concealer under my eyes was on a wedding. I couldn't find my favourite Maybelline Fit Me concealer so i had this lying on my vanity and i picked it up and used it. Personally i am someone who doesn't checks a mirror every now and then and so after wearing this concealer for about 6 hours and moving around in the market‚ since i had some errands to run i finally reached the wedding venue. The first thing my cousin asked me “Aww! You must not be sleeping well". And i was like what is she talking about? I slept well. And then my aunt told me “Girl! Don't you wear concealer? Your dark circles are really bad". Still shocked at what everyone is talking about i turned to my mom and asked her why everyone is telling me that my dark circles are bad? I don't have dark circles mom. And she was like ohh!! Check in a mirror‚ your dark circles really look bad. So i rushed to the bathroom to check in a mirror and there to my surprise i could see 2 dark brown triangles under my eyes. Also the concealer looked patchy and dry under my eyes and it did creased on me. And then i realised‚ this concealer oxidises and gets 3 times darker than its original shade. I haven't read in any blog posts that this concealer oxidises. Neither i have seen this happening with anyone else owning this concealer. So i came to the conclusion that maybe i got a bad piece or its the case with the shade dark only.

Now i haven't thrown this concealer away. Instead i have my own ways to use this concealer. Either i mix n match it with a lighter shade concealer or i apply it very sheer and blend it out completely‚ that way after oxidising it doesn't looks as brown streaks under my eyes. I wont say it is a completely bad concealer‚ but it might work for you if oxidising isn't the case with all the shades and also if you have oily skin. I have tried to take picture of concealer swatched freshly and how it looks after 2 minutes. I Hope you can see the difference. How much concealer oxidises also depends on how much you layer it up.
