The Body Shop Blusher Brush - Review

Hi girls‚

I am back with another brush review. Today's post was going to be my Foot Care Routine as it was most demanded when i asked on my facebook page. If you haven't liked my page yet here is the link World Through The Eyes Of A Makeupholic. Since the pictures accidentally got deleted so i will post the review next week. The second most demanded post was a review on The Body Shop Blusher Brush. So here i am reviewing it today. Read below what i have to say about this product.

Product Description

BEST IF YOU WANT: An indispensable, soft-bristle makeup brush that is just the right size for applying blushers and bronzers.

HOW IT WORKS:

-Super-soft synthetic hairs are long-lasting and specially cut to be extra gentle on delicate face skin.
-Wide, flat tapered head is ideal for applying and blending powder formulations.
-Slightly tapered handle makes the brush easy to hold and use for controlled, precise applications.

Product & Packaging

The Body Shop Blusher Brush has a matte black handle with a beautiful sheen. The Body Shop and Blusher is written on the handle in white. The bristles are very soft glossy ombre brown and are synthetic. The brush over all has a very high end feel. The handle is quite medium size and fat at the bottom. The bristles are tapered at the top and pinched at the bottom and the brush resembles a typical flat foundation brush. It comes in a cheap clear plastic cover‚ for the price you pay for this brush it doesn't gives a good impression.

My Review

About 4 months ago i was looking to buy a good blush brush. My preference was a round fluffy blush brush. I was checking the just4girls and i came across The Body Shop Brushes. In picture the blush brush looked very nice. Just the kind of brush i needed. Without searching for reviews i ordered it. When it finally came in the mail i was in a shock for a while. It looked so flat in reality i thought they accidentally sended me the flat foundation brush :P i took the brush out of the packaging and it had written blush brush on it. So i finalised than that its a blush brush which looks exactly like a typical foundation brush.
To be honest i wasn't impressed at all to have a blush brush like this. Infact i was a little heart broken to spend this much money on a brush which i wont be able to use for the purpose i bought it. It is still hard for me to use a brush of this shape to apply blush on my cheeks. Since it was no point of returning it‚ i had to use it for some other purpose. On careful observation you can see that the top of the brush is pointed and dense. So it can be used for contouring. And it did the job very well. It blends contouring powder easily in the hollow of your cheeks in a single strike. What other purpose i love using this brush for is packing on my highlighter. The flat side is dense enough to pick up the highlighter and thin enough to not look too much over the top. I also have used it twice to set my under eye concealer. The shape of the brush is perfect to get under your eyes and place the powder. Since the brush is not too dense it dosen't picks a lot of powder‚ hence you under eye area doesn't looks cakey.

In short i will say if you prefer these types of brushes to apply your blush go ahead buy it‚ it is a really good quality brush. But if you are someone like me who prefer round fluffy brushes to apply blush than this brush might not be for you. Since the brush has synthetic bristles its cruelty free. You can also use this brush to apply foundation but personally i have never tried this brush for that purpose since i prefer round top kabuki brush to apply my foundation. I have washed this brush once. What i noticed is that it dries up very quickly as compared to my other brushes and didn't shed a single hair.

Pros

Synthetic bristles.
Cruelty free.
You prefer these type of brushes to apply your blush.
It can be used for multi purposes.
Has a high end feel.
Dries quickly.

Cons

A little on the expensive side.
You prefer round fluffy brush to apply blush.
The packaging it comes in looks cheap.

Final Verdict

I would rate this brush a 3.5/5.
In short it is a good brush but not for the purpose i bought it for. If above of the pros will work for you i definitely recommend this brush. I purchased mine from just4girls for Rs1600. Now its for a reduced price of Rs1350 only. If you live outside of Pakistan you can purchase The Body Shop products from thebodyshop.com .
