Hi girls. Today i am reviewing my first ever face product‚ a BB cream. I bought the garnier BB cream a while ago when i was not much into any other face products or foundations. At that time this garnier BB cream was very trending. Running its ads on various TV channels all the time. So i was so mesmerised by it i had to have it. Infact i not only bought it myself but told everyone to buy it too. Without even trying it out. My mistake i know. Read along what i have to say about this product.

Product And Packaging

I have this in shade light/Clair and i think this is the only shade available in market. The shade light/Clair will suit you if you are between light to medium.There were different versions of these available in market i have the one which is in stout tube and is made in Germany. The garnier BB cream has a squeeze tube packaging. It contains 50ml of product which is quite decent. It has strong men perfume + sunscreen smell.




My Review

I have a love/hate relationship with this garnier BB cream. Sometimes i love it because of its all pros but some times its cons just overtake my love for it. Let me actually tell you what it really does. Its named as 5 in 1 BB cream. Which hydrates‚ blurs imperfections‚ even out skin tone‚ illuminates and has SPF which protect your skin. An SPF of 15 is decent in winters. Because for summers in Pakistan you atleast need an SPF 30. If you think you will use a sunscreen underneath it then you don't need this BB cream. Secondly does it hydrates? For dry skin the hydration in it is enough for summer. And for oily skin its enough in winters. Where as for dry skin in winter you need a good moisturiser underneath because it tends to cling on your dry patches. For oily beauties this garnier BB cream in summers will be too oily. Now the third point. Does it covers imperfections and even out skin tone? It does even out skin tone quite nicely but as it claims its a sheer coverage it doesn't really hides imperfections you will need concealer for it. Lastly it claims to illuminate your skin for some it will illuminate but for some it will be too greasy. Like i have dry skin but in summers my skin is more normal and since i sweat alot it turns me into a grease ball. So for people with oily skin i suggest to set it with powder to avoid being too oily. It claims it can be used as primer. Well if you want just illumination from your primer that's it nothing else then yes you can use it as a primer. It claims to last 24 hours well if you set it with powder and finish it off with makeup setting spray then it may last you 6 to 8 hours.

turns you into a grease ball
SPF is not enough for summer
Might be too dry for dry skin in winter
Might be too oily for oily skin

Final verdict

I will rate this a 3.5/5
If you are someone who loves BB cream or a makeup newbie who is afraid to try foundation then this BB cream is a good buy.

    If it works so well then what a need to buy expensive primers like smashbox and Mac one.plz do a post of differenciating b/w these primers if possible?
